SAM
FURNESS

Director

Sam specialises in program facilitation and design, development and corporate role playing with a particular focus on providing insights into presentation and soft skills.

Having spent a number of years in the finance industry based in the UK, Sam returned to Hong Kong, where he had studied in his youth, and made the move into the learning and development sector. Sam then took up a position with Bridge Partnership.

At Bridge Partnership, Sam cultivated his learned skill set to focus on the development of individuals and groups as well as the facilitative approach of engineering positive culture change within organisations. Sam enjoys and excels at the opportunity to use interactive processes to support individual, team or organizational development.

In 2017, Sam was a driving force of the HKU Force For Good Initiative, a 3.5 day program bringing nearly 100 organisations together to work on the D&I topic of sexual harassment in the workplace. The success of this program led Sam to build strong connections in the D&I space leading to work with corporates, non-profits as well as individuals. Sam works every month with a global bank on D&I based programs, with a particular focus on sexual harassment, workplace bullying and discrimination. Over the past two years Sam has often been consulted to redesign and update the content of the program.

Having worked with Bridge Sam was also able to partner with a number of other organisations in the field to develop insights into best practice and efficient approaches. In 2018, Sam decided to form his own learning and development organisation in order to pursue opportunities  he felt provided the most effective change for participants. Maintaining strong connections with these partners, Sam also partners with a number of them currently.

With experience in the corporate and learning sectors, Sam possesses a strong understanding of working to achieve the best outcomes for clients, both at a corporate and individual level. Sam maintains a professional and personal approach to his work, ensuring a consistently high level of performance.

Sam is also the Founder and Director of Cheshire Cat Consulting Limited, a Hong Kong-based facilitation, development and corporate role playing organisation focusing on leadership readiness, D&I advancement and capability development.

When he is not working, Sam likes nothing more than meeting interesting people, watching and playing sport, movies and live music.
